Another connotation within Tamil culture is to refer to stories, usually surrounding one's life, as "Ramayanam," in mock seriousness. E.g. "Adda yenna Ramayanam adda ethhu?" "Hey what is Ramayanam is this?" one might say after a seemingly never ending life story or problem.
